I have a 1992(v24) Mk swb pajero with a center diff lock.I am looking to fit a rear axle with a diff lock in it from a 1995 v6 Mk paj swb.Can anyone tell me if it should go straight in or will I have problems?
Thanks all.

The 2.5td and 3.0v6 should both be 4.875 stamped on the back of the diff , [2.8's are usually 4.9000]
You need to get the diff lock compressor fits beside the diff lock ecu plug usually taped to the loom running from ecu easily recognised by te connectors ' and rear diff lock switch as well.
You will also need a length of 6mm pipe to feed from compressor to diff. The ecu for rear diff is behind the n/s rear panel just in front of where the rear seat belt mounts, BTW its a pain to remove I just didnae bother putting mine back on Morpheus.

I think I may have figured out an area of confusion... finally.
Does this mean that old Pajeros use LSDs throughout and newer ones have "proper" diff locks?
*light bulb finally goes on*

On the older Pajeros they had both open and LSD diffs, diff locks were an optional extra in Japan but, standard on Shogun's over here I think

When did the models change, then? I've just seen a page saying the SuperSelect4WD has diff locks but it didn't clarify which of the three diffs locked nor whether it was a standard fitment on the model it was talking about (1989 and later).
*confused look returns*

Ahh, right. So the rear diff is always LSD, even on the post 1989 change? All the way up to the actively locking diff mentioned at the beginning of this thread?
*slow comprehension*
Thanks for this

The rear diff is either open or LSD [LSD would be marked with a label on diff casing/ as is ratio of the diff ] on standard set up, Super select has centre diff lock.
Diff locked versions are easy to spot by the diff lock switch beside the accessory socket below the radio fascia.
