Hi Guys,

I have a 93 cherokee 4.0l. There's about 4-5mm end float on the rear half shafts, can this be adjusted out? Is it a case of new bearing required? Or do I have more serious problems?

Please help

that's normal Laughing
If you want to delve into the diff, the c-clips that hold the shaft in the axle, could be worn a tad, I'd leave it Very Happy

4-5 mm is alot. I'd guess the clutch packs on your LSD have worn completely - check the LSD action but jacking both rear wheels and turn one rear wheel. If you can turn it your LSD is shot.

As Daggie says the C-clips have probably worn a bit too. The C-clip is the only thing holding your wheel on. I'd whip the diff cover off and have a look if I was you.

Stu.
