They're fine. Best to keep all 4 corners the same though.
I run Firestone SAT's and quite a few people run the Deestone equivalents. On road they're a bit vague but as long as you're not acting like Stirling Moss they're grand.

I've been using cross-plys for years (Pirelli AS-22s 6.50x16) without any major problems...
Like our fellow friend gadgetboy said, as long as you don't pull Schumacher-type stunts you'll be fine.
Ahh, let's see how the F1 fares without the best pilot in the short history of the sport... If Mclaren can't do away with the reliability issues it's going to be a very hard season for Alonso, and even though I don't like Raikkonen I think he's the best candidate for the 2007 trophy...

I use the Deestones off road because they're cross plies. Stronger sidewalls than radials, and they don't bulge as much so are less likely to catch on the stones sticking out from the sides of the ruts on the lanes I drive.
