Hi. Rich, I've been studying the pics of your build and have a question.
How have you over come the problem of the rear axle wanting to twist under accelaration? I see you have build mounts for something on the centre line of the axle and a mount on the chassis... but that centre distance between axle and chassis changes when your axle moves like yours does... How did you do it or is that a secret
Thanks
Aubrey

Sorry i forgot that bit no secret its just a simple shackle with an extra 90deg bush made at just the right length to allow full travel in the suspension.

Hi Rich. Thanks for the answer and pics! And I like the modesty... " a simple 90deg link"! Simply pure genius, but not simple...
Thanks a million for the pics.

I cant they bring me out in a rash
Maybe a yota or mitsi though.
Where is the challenge in doing a landy when you just bolt them together with off the shelf parts.

took it for a bit of a test and all is well i couldn't be more pleased.
Lucky to have korc all to my self for the day untill they nicked a hydraulic fitting from my truck to fix the 360 earth mover so they could get on with the site work for the tor event.
I seem to have a prob with the gear linkage i couldn't get 1st and 2nd but it was unfazed doing everything in 3rd in low low.
I did have concernes about the rad being up to the job but it went all day not going above 1/4 on the temp so thats ok to. I do need to up the poundage on the front springs a bit but again on big prob.

Just read the whole build from start to finish and WOW your a very talented man,
One thing i cant work out is that pipe from front to rear... i know you said about the winch cable but how are you goin to get a hook through it?
my other concern is if you wade through water a get a bow wave and it rises over the bonnet your snorkle might not be high enough!!

The winch is vector mount google it for an explanation and the air intake is 4'6 off the ground and he the water is that deep i dont want to be in it as it would get the ecu aswell.

4' 6" is far enough, mine sits roof height on my disco if my feet get wet im in to deep!!
VECTOR, iv just spent an hour or so reading up on them and what a simple idea that will feature on my build
did you gusset your chassis for strength and were did you get your pulleys from?

If you look through the build then you will see that its nearly a space frame all to add strength to the chassis. And the pulley i made my self but most just use snatch blocks the type with the hole in the midle and just run a pin through them.

It handles good with the poundage thats on its just the ride hight that came down when it settled and it kept bottoming the front suspension out so i turned some nylon spacer's for the springs and see how it gets on. if it dont then ill go up to 220's.
See you at the weekend
