Ken and Hugh need setup teams on Saturday. A free day's play is not to be sneezed at!

Basically meet at 09:30 in the bridge lay-by. All you need is a vehicle and best to come with a helper but that's not mandatory.

Email me or Ken or Hugh if you need more info.

Potarch is on! All four areas have been set up, and navigation will be more important than winches this time. All the punches can be driven to this time, the challenge will be finding them! You are only given punch 1, 4, 7 in an area once you find anyone on these they have the co-ordinates for the next punch written on them! I.E. Punch 7 has the co-ordinates for punch 8 on it. And remember maybe the direct route isn't always the quickest!

One punch we put in is a f**kin nightmare to get to using the "quick" shortest route, but go in from another direction and even Sloss should manage! Very Happy

See you there tomorrow.

Phil

We supply the maps (photocopies) so you wont need a map, however if you have (or can borrow) a GPS that does help. If not, I'm sure you could borrow the club GPS.

BUT REMEMBER - A lot of folk dont use GPS or have winches etc. they just turn up for fun of the drive, so dont be put off.

A punch is an orienteering punch that proves you got to a certain location, who stamp the punch onto the score sheet you are given which is in turn is tied to the vehicle, so its no good just finding the punch, you have to drive close enough to make the stamp on the score card Very Happy

Hi, will be there tomorrow but this time just to spectate I'm afraid.

Next event will hopefully start racing with you guys, just waiting for my tires Wink

Can you please provide me info about exactly where it is, my geography is still poor Smile , got a GPS so should be no problem (i think).

Do we have to pay anything to spectate?

Can I join the club tomorrow?

Cheers and see u guys tomorrow.

unfortunately at the Potarch events there is no official spectating due to the type of event and the land lease/insurance point of view.

It is an orienteering event which means that the vehicles are never in one spot and are spread all over the forest.

You are more than welcome to come along and team up with someone and compete, you do not have to have a serious go at the punches you can take it nice an easy at getting to them.

To compete your vehicle needs to be to a certain spec ie you need good front and rear recovery points, your battery needs to be strapped down and the positive terminals need to be covered. You also need a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit to comply with the land lease

Oh BTW the site has LOTS of tree stumps so watch out!
