what an incredible truck, fantastic piece of engineering. well done.
but it just goes to show, that how ever much you spend, or put into a truck, it can still roll over if you don't get it right.

Excellent stuff, the first bit had me in stitches when it went over, the second I could not believe my eyes when it drove round
I can count on the fingers of 1 hand the number of trucks I have seen in the UK as good as that, Top Work Fella.

beautiful machine BUT
he only drove round the tree because of the sling hooked onto the rollcage the 2nd time.
Look close at the end of the clip the line is obvious and the navi's hand is resting on it.

your right he did have centre winch attached to a tree, he didnt want to roll it again, but others climbed it without the winch, experience will come to him, after all it was his first outing in this new truck.

True, it will be near unstoppable once he has learnt to control it

TOR?
I am on the other side of the puddle, brilliant truck, it makes the rock crawler trucks over here pale.

Total Off Road = a fairly decent, all makes, UK off-roading magazine that no-one can ever find in the shops because the publishers are too tight fisted to contract a proper distribution deal. you have to get it by subscription or steal it from your mates.

There's a small newsagents in Grimsby North Linc's that stocks it every month - only place I've ever seen it though apart from show stands.

Its in a couple of agents in town every month, I have 2 year Sub to it, glad I didn't pay for it as I feel its got a bit poor lately...
Anyway, onto the mitsi mog, beautiful work has been done there, all top quality, and very very clever, he is going to need some serious hours driving it to get good in there, my feeling with it is he has too much going on in the cab, there was at least 6 hydro levers, 2 difflock levers, rear steer joystick, tcase shifter and its a manual to boot - he'd get on a lot better with an autobox in my opinion, and suspension that looks after itsef.
However once the art of driving the beast is perfected Its gotta be a real world beating monster.

I have read the Mitsimog article twice. It is a cracking bit of engineering. I tend to agree with Nat, there is far too much to be fiddling with in that cab and point it in the right direction. Self levelling suspension with override has got to be an idea worth considering.
Our local newsagent had never heard of TOR. L, my better half, asked him to get it in for me. He now sells 10 each month + mine which he keeps under the counter.

seeing it in the flesh and in action at the howlin wolf challenge was special the guy that owns and built it can (sort of) drive it too there were a couple of spots where he came unstuck but he is very good like you say a bit more time behind the wheel and sticks and he will have it to a tee
his bitch is more butch and tells him what lever to pull on quite a bit of the time..... he acts more like the Nissan's Imode than the i mode does reading the ground and shouting abuse at the driver
i think that between them they could well be a world class team and with the skills behind them developed and understood will be unstoppable

The car is a wonderful piece of work that is a true inspiration to us all........
But if that car wins anything thing without a radical rethink and different Tyre's i will be gobsmacked.
As for World class? Not without a massive rethink.
Not being negative just realistic

Are you telling me that vehicle cant win on those tires because that's not being realistic that's being naive. On some surfaces pitbulls are unbeatable, and seeing as the howlin wolf incorporates most types of surface at one site or another i think its a bold thing to say those tires wont win.
I have trialed on pit bull where i was told they were to wide for a Suzuki or they aren't aggressive enough although they have walked all over the competition on many occasions.
However i agree that the vehicle could well be to complicated for challenge events i thing if we had a tuff truck style of events over here that truck would shine.

As danny knows I run pitbulls on mine, i'm the first to say that pitbulls arn't the best ties in the world but they are a very good all-rounder and who is the one to say which tyres are the best?....I wouldn't like to be the one lol but I wouldn't hesertate in recomending them so long as you can fit the width in .
The pit bulls seem to be best suited quary type surfaces but they are by no means out off place in mud...
just my opinion
cheers, steve

sorry guys, but don't underestimate this truck or driver....i was there with Bonerattler at round1(howlin/wolf) at the special stage when he got locked on a tree!!!! his options for getting himself out of the S**T were endless . his downfall IMO was his bitch, by not being assertive enough when the S**T hit the fan.......BUT this will remedy itself with time, they are both young and need to GEL together as one

i no rob and Jamie, as I've been trialing with them for a few years now, and I've got robs old Suzuki lol.
as every one has said its a fair thing to drive, now i no they are both competitive trial drivers in the old Suzuki's, so its just one big learning curve for the first year with this beast.
they both get on well just need 2 listen to each other rather than every 1 else, they have both realized this and next event will hopefully get better and better, Scott

Scottrod you hit the nail on the head there coming from a trials type scene you look at challenges very differently, mostly always trying to drive as its your instinct sometimes it pays off sometimes you get very stuck.
Like you say they need to learn together in this inviroment. I hope they do really well especially after the sheer effort thats in the build of this truck.
I think sometimes he will have to just leave the fancy stuff alone and just drive it like in a trial, keeping the fancy suspension four wheel steer and winches for the his bitches command.

yes like you say having the up and down suspention is nice, but as every 1 can imaging drive the car steering bothe ends while lift the car is tricky lol. so when he get the hang of it he wil be driving it well.
rob was one of the best drivers in his class so wil hopefully get t grips with it.
and i think it would be good for jamie to have a few days driving it so he knows how rob feels

yeah its all about trusting each other driver has to know that bitch knows the limit of the vehicle and bitch needs to have faith in the driver. Simple things not understanding a command can cause havoc too. danny
