During my wanderings at the show I noticed a large gathering around one machine........a Mitsu Mog or was it the Mog Mitsu.....appeared to be a Mk2 L200 cab on a mog chassis....due to the numbers around the machine I was only able to see that it had 4 wheel steering. Unable to glean any more info.

Do anyone know any more?

There is a new small unimog - possibly bearing a jap cab - a forward control definitely. I've not seen many pictures, that may be the beast - this, in fact - http://www.unimog-trucks.eu/webspecial_u20/new-...unimog/index.html

you'd have thought with all that cost and 3000 hours spent they would have put all those levers somewhere sensible, must hit them with his elbowevery time he goes for the gearstick Shocked

Thats Portal Pete's challenge truck , over on LR4x4, I think it will be at the next Howlin' wolf at Slab....it has hydro jacking on all four corners , full hydro steer front and rear, two extended type R MM's ( 350mm drum length + deep dish).....possibly the best build so far in the UK....haven't seen it myself yet but the photo's show an attention to detail and finish that is top quality, will be interesting to see it in action. He also has another build with his Dad i think that is mog portalled independent suspension....

cheers

Most disc braked mogs(if not all) have double calipers on the front axles.

My U1000 certainly does.

it was on 404 axels these dont come with disks and was retro fitted with disks and calipers from another 4x4 think he said disco this intails machining the hub down and then refitting on in reverce to alow the space for the disk to fit then mounts being made for the calipers see straightforward supplies for info
ive seen the later clamshell axels came with disks but are a totaly diferent hub interface(okwheel bolt paturns the same but thats it)

Minimog, you're absolutely spot on.I've just noticed the construction of those axles(solid) and of course they'd have had drums as standard.

The U1000 has the clamshell type, and associated discs, twin calipers and internal locker setup.
