Hi all, just a quick one i think
I have a straight six 3.0 engine in a patrol running on LPG, is it possible to remove and fit to a 3.5 V8 with obviousley adding 2 extra injectors fi thats what you call them.
By the way i know NOTHING about LPG kits so please be nice
Also whats the running cost, what mileage you get difference etc.

The LPG system may not have the wiring for the extra injectors either. I can't think of any make that has different 6 or 8 cyl ECUs, but other components may (like emulators). The vaporiser might need replacing if its output is inadequate for its new home. The injectors need to be matched, so 6 worn ones and two new ones may not work sweetly. Things change, injectors get redesigned - you may not be able to source the same type at all. You don't say the make so can't comment further.
Tanks can be re-used but its not often that it'll be the best use of space in a completely different vehicle. Pipework etc should be made new as a matter of course.
You should already know the cost/MPG questions if you already have LPG?
If you know nothing about LPG this probably isn't the right project to learn on

Hi Ross, thanks for the info kida.
I have bought a patrol running LPG and was thinking what to do with it and if things are possible or viable to do, i would of got proffesional help with this but as it goes i am sticking with a diesel engine in my new project.
