Hi All, I'm thinking of converting to Mog but have a few questions ??? lowloader...how far would you drive MOG before you needed one ? my closest sites are woodlands (to small) bures -devils pit . how many sites can accommodate MOGS? I'm based in Nth London sorry bit long winded thanks in advance RICKY

If you want to wheel, you're probably thinking 404 (what most of us have, the small petrol engined one). People in the states do wheel the diesels, but I'm not sure it's that practical over here (and they're a damn sight dearer).

A well maintaned 404 will keep 50-55 on a motorway (I've had 70 on a steep downhill, clocked by a jeep) happily, although they're at their best on on A roads. I think mine ('61) is nicer to drive than most old campervans I've driven, I really like driving it.

We've only ever done 100 miles each way in ours, have done 65 miles each way for a days wheeling, and would contemplate more. Expect 10-12mpg on road.

I can't stress enough how much fun they are to drive. I always find the traditional 4x4's I've driven (G wagon, L rover, jeeps) wallow more, and feel less precise. The mog has a low CoG relative to its height, and they really handle surprisingly well (mine is as light as it can be, and has stock tyres). I love driving it in the city, it's not too bad in traffic, A roads are fun, but I love B roads in it.

Hi guys, thanks for the info. i asked about transporting because i hate the idea of breaking down with it at sites .weight wise its "BRILL" small cheap plant lorry may be on the cards to carry it(when I get one) Just been outbid on flea bay for a 404 .hope a fellow differ won ?.......thanks again Ricky
