What (if any) are the rules for what type of pipe I can use? Tank came off today and cracked the pipe at the fitting so need to put new pipe on and also I want to reroute it anyway as its about 2m longer than it needs to be and can be put in less vunerable positions too. For instance can push fir nylon pipe be used, what about stainless steel over braided hose is there anything suitable?

I know there are some people on here who have experience with fitting LPG but better to ask an expert than going on the advice of someone on a forum who may or may not be qualified.
If I were you I'd get in touch with Autogas 2000 at Thirsk (not too far from you from your sig). They will be able to advice and supply the correct pipes and fittings as required. You may also want to get the system re-checked afterwards... Safety first, not price, with LPG, IMO.
