With the onset of winter, and as the temperature is dropping, if you use 100% biodiesel you may need some form of winterisation.
Does your biodiesel supplier add a winterisation additive like Coldflow 350 or Winterex? These additives are added to the biodiesel during production and lower CFPP (cold filter plugging point) of the biodiesel. Coldflow 350 state that biodiesel with Coldflow 350 added will prevent biodiesel freezing up to -10degrees.
I can't tell you what the CFPP is of all biodiesel because alot depends on what the biodiesel is made of. But during cold spells; about -4degrees and lower, if the biodiesel isn't winterised starting problems may be experienced.
If your supplier does not winterise their biodiesel, then I would recommend that you run on a mix of between 50/50% to 75% biodiesel/25%mineral diesel, during cold weather to prevent starting issues.

Good advice there Bev, Can these Products you mention be added to SVO/WVO blends?
Or are they only available commercially in bulk?

One of the companies that sell Coldflow 350 (Chemiphase) only refer to the use of Coldflow 350 in relation to the production of biodiesel, so whether it can be used with SVO/WVO would need to be checked out with them.
It may be worth you contacting them regarding the above and as to whether they sell it in small amounts or just bulk. Their web site is www.biodieseladditives.co.uk

Hi Nathaniel
I add a winterisation to used veg oil and after much testing (in the freezer) I add about 10ml per litre. I buy it in 5ltr containers if you PM me I will give you prices etc
