Hi all,

Just wanting to gather a little bit of information.

What fuel tank do you run in your SJ? Ally, plastic, standard tank?
Tell me your configuration, I am interested to know.

Cheers, Tom

mines got a beetle tank behind the seats. but ill be changing it once i can figure out a better way of doing it!

ill be changing it cos its in my way for my cage bars, which will come down behind the cab (pick up) and weld to the chassis rails, so i need a thinner tank. let me know what you come up with!

i have a suzuki blitz and i have a 30 litre plastic boat fuel tank in the rear, i have a larger 65 litre plastic boat tank that i will put in when i do my tray back conversion, but they are great as they are cheap and do not rust and they can be adapted to any fuel system as you can just drill and tap them for different fittings and pipe work.

Tom,
I fitted a 70 litre marine fuel tank into Little Toe.
You might be wondering why such a big tank (standard SJ tank is around 30 litres).
Well I was finding with a days greenlaning I was having to find petrol stations half way through the day, so decided to increase the capacity.
And now I've going to be fitting a V8, so I'll definately needing that increased capacity Laughing
I got the fuel tank from here - http://www.tek-tanks.com/
And lastly - here's the tank installed.....

standard tank but lifted and turned.
I don't have anything in the back as it was all cut away for the shocks so there is plenty of space.

I bodged a cylindrical tank out of a really old Ford into the back of my softtop Sammy... and then had tons of trouble with it sucking up rusty old crud from the bottom - that's when I first met Dunk but it was about 6 months later that I realised it was him that I'd met. Doh!. Laughing Once I got that sorted it was fine though.

Gonna need another slightly smaller tank to fit my 70 series Cruiser so I can shove another winch in behind it and will probably go for a marine tank, unless I make my own custom one. Think

I have a 15l tank made by Alisport to my design, gives me 2 laps before I have to refuel. Cost was about £115, expensive but it is right!

I have the 30litre plastic boat one.
It's just mounted in the back with ratchet straps. Because it's only got one pipe out I have a vent in the top of the filler cap. It has a regular tyre valve with guts removed, small pipe and a one way check valve. It pulls air in but stops anything getting out.
For the feed I have mounted an inline fuel pump (electric 2-4psi) and still have the original pump.
The return pipe is just blanked off. Works a treat!!

George,
i hope its a big capacity tank you have, you will be needing one when the V8 is in.
Offroad i found i got through about 1 gallon to 10-15 minutes of play.
