|

Hi All,
Was tryin to fit wastegate actuator pipe to the threaded section at the rear of the 300TDi Intake manifold to get 1 bar at the valves.
I dont want to drill the Plug thats in there at the mo and can't find anything of the right size!
Its 17mm AF (approx, might be an imperial size but 17 was a pretty good fit!) and the thread comes out at 11.8mm on the calipers. Worked that out as 15/32 in imperial.
Does anyone know if this is actually a size? Or should it be something completely different?
Anyone know where else I could find a bolt/plug with the same thread I could drill and tap?
Thanks

Given the age of the vehicle I would imagine that it is a metric thread.

I am trying to find the same thing.
I can tell you it is between an M8 and an M10 but the pitch is 1.0
I bought hosetail connectors in M8x1.0 and M10x1.0 and it is neither.

jus my pennies worth,
if it was me i would just buy a n m10 tap and re tap the hole so you can fit in the m10x1 fitting, this would make life so much easier
i have had a look and found it being part number etc5577 but i cant find any info on thread sizes

Thanks Guys,
Winnet and Phil: I tried an M10 and it was too small.
Saitan_jnr: thanks for the part number, found the ref below on beamends website, same thread as 2.25D sump plug!
ETC5577 Block Drain Plug - 2.5P from (E)17H25701C/2.5D from JA43825C/Top Of Head & Manifold 200 & 300Tdi (Non ECU)/ Sump Plug 2¼D - Defender
I/m gonna buy one an tap it BSP or M8 so I can use some nice pneumatic fittings from work!
Cheers

Why not take the old bolt to a proper nut'n'bolt place and they should be able to tell you what size of thread it is using their guages.

Nip to the scrapies - the fuel inlet pipe banjo bolt from a pug 106 diesel fits nicely - thats what I have in my disco to do the job you're after doing..........
