been looking at what has been done by folks to protect their cabs/occupants is there a recognised roll cage design which will still let the chassis flex?

on the mogs its very hard to keep the flex of the chassis and the cage that rigid enough to withstand a roll
im going to start making one for mine im doing a central hoop at the point where the gear box mounts (as this is a ridgid mount and the frame seems to flex around this fixed point) then i going to try to do the front section to mount in a single point at the front
but as yours is as short as mine the flex could be reduced a lot by making the suspension travel more and making it a bit softer

I'm very happy with my cage, and very unimpressed with many others for 404's - there's a thread with pictures on here somewhere, or on my site - www.foodfight.org.uk/mog

like the cage , thats the sort of thing I have in mind, something that will fit inside the cab but give the proper outline when the top is off and double up as a soft top frame
