before you buy it what are you looking to do with it
you do know that the top speed will be 30mph if you can ever reach it
just check for the normal things (knocking and wines from the drivetrain also check the oil level in the gear box and diffs )
if the gear box is low it coulds be leaking into the tubes thats why you check the diffs aswell if they poor out oil from the fill plug the output seals have gone on the box

want it mainly for offroad fun/trials, and horsey stable yard duties ive got a selection of v8 landrovers for long distance offroading and a grand cherokee for day to day driver and tow duty.
its an ex council snow plough with the hydraulics still fitted but the plough removed, a six speed box and a 2.5 Diesel motor, running on pink no MOT or tax required?????? theres a 3 way tipper rear body and a stange looking custom top cab but it looks good from the photos so I hope to go look see at the weekend
6 speed box hi/lo and 2 speed reverse, air brakes

Nice!
Snowplow seems to have become the career choice for these little mogs.
3 way tipper will be handy around the stables.
If it has snowplow springs up front still they'll be hard as hell!
I like it.
BUY IT!

if it was a snow plow then you are going to need springs on the front getting them now thats the hard bit if you go to any of the mog dealers in england exspect over £100 each
as for the rock crawling your in the same boat as me you will have to mod and try thing for yourself as theres no or very little mods availible
and if you try rock crawling get yourself a cage made up due to the short wheelbase they are a bit twitchy
ps the cabs are shaped that way to stop the snow sticking to the winscreen

Hi so how did it go at the w/e? is it yours now?
I don't know if 404 front springs would fit , if they do get in touch as I'm breaking a couple of 404's up at the moment.
thats a nice looking mog and it should be fairly well looked after as ex council
good luck with it
cheers
Steveb

went out to see the 421 today, looks like a good honest truck, has had a lot of tlc by its present owner. I had a short test drive on a private track/driveway in 1st, 2nd and 3rd hi range and all seems ok. the brakes do not have the air connected yet ... they just dont work , so a proper road test was out of the question. It needs the brakes sorted, and all the electrics done from scratch, but thats no problem. I reckon it will make a crackin wee trials truck with a bit of work. Its only got 1079 hours on the motor and it all sounds pretty healthy.
the owner is coming out to see a 1940's Triumph Tiger 100 which I have with a view to doing a trade so hopefully we can do a deal

the springs on the front are pretty heavy duty with a smaller diametr helper spring sitting inside them for when the snow blower was on the front frame, the main spring diameter isnt too far away from the ones on my 110 so I think a bit of experementation might be in order, the shockies seem pretty short too, so maybe some more travel could be achieved there too. the tyres are a bit tired 10.5x20's i'll have to suss out what will go on the rims

doubt you could do quick gear changes its not the slickest changing box ive tried
