hi all how many of you have forgoten to move the direction lever and lurched of in the wrong direction and what was the outcome? i'll tell the whole story after the court case! P.S. it was a 424/U1000 so it's probably easier cos the 404/6 only reverses in 1st and 2nd.

I parked right up to someone to take a gap that wasn't there just next to a very small junction. It wasn't too bad as we were sat at a cafe two doors down. When I saw them arrive at the car I sprinted up, bounded onto the back bed and into the seat, started it up an set off - backwards!

Thankfully it was 1st not second, and I was damn quick on the brake. But it was funny.

what did you drive through?

good luck

jim

hi all. the full story
In a narrow lane I came face to face with a posh looking woman in her fifties she shouted something that I didn't catch so i turned off the mog and got out only to hear her shout that she wasn't going to park in the bushes I replied 2 you don't have to if you reverse past the lay by(on her left) I can pull into it " I thought she was OK with this so i got back in the mog fired it up and pulled away, but she just sat there so I stop-ed she got out with her leatherman type thing with the knife blade extended and climbed onto the bank between a fence and the cab I thought time to leave so I steered left to move away from her and also to see behind me (chip box body and 9 inch wood chipper and log splitter on 3 point linkage) now I have no need to pull away gently I want to leave ASAP so I gave the mog a boot full and drop the clutch only to leap forward f**king her car and scaring her s**tless. Eventually I get home the law arrive arrest me for attempted murder yes you read that right take away the mog for 4 weeks lose it for one of them then drop all charges and tell me I can collect the mog from a depot 45 miles away. so all in all just another day in the life of a tree surgeon and his mog. but thanks for the concern and have fun.
john

well it's like this, after a couple of weeks i was talking to copper A on the phone about the whereabouts of the mog( they mislaid it for a few days) and copper A asked how i felt about the woman but as i don't know her i don't have any feelings about her so he told me that she would not be charged which i said was ok as there was no evidence to say she had a knife (and seein as she doesn't look mad and i do we all know how that would go in a court) so we ended the call with him saying he would find the mog. so imagine my surprise a few days later when copper B rang to say they have found the mog and during the conversation revealed that early on in the investigation they had recovered the knife but neglected to tell me. however i was impressed cos as a rule of thumb kent police couldn't find a tart in a brothel
