have to start the merc section with a bit of a stinger
well ive cut off the rear coils on the mog decided if this is going to be the offroader then it going to be diferent so on the rear its going to have air shocks because its not going to be too heavly laden i can get away with it

You're nuts - and I can't believe I haven't been over to visit.

How does yours behave with little weight on the back - ours is dreadfull. My main aim is to get as close to 50-50 distribution as possible. If I get 60-40 I'll be happy.

Very impressed though - do air shocks include air bags?

jim

yep i must of been nuts for getting another
at least the parts of this one has gone on the minimog to get it back to standard spec but then this one is getting less like a mog and more like a mobile engine carrier as for handleling its not that bad i just find its hard to go up and down steep hills cos of how short it is
theres no airbags thats the complete unit its like a large air ram so i can keep the holething simple
and at the moment they are not left on overnight but once the mounts are made and the sucurity bolts used it should be fine (theres also 24hr cameras pointed at it )

nice toy hear of the security triss ill come up ure end twist all ure cameras round get the bolts out someway n have em away lol no am only joking...

i hate it that this is the kind of stuff we have to do to keep yobs at bay... when i stayed at a Friends House in America(Texas) he rides moto x bikes and he had to brand new(at the time) 20K's worth of moto X bikes in a garage that had no door on it just sat there on his driveway... amazing could u imagine that over here wouldn't last 5 minutes... anyway rant over back to the point

its coming together well triss by the way should be interesting ill be following the build with interest !!

i was just wondering how the suspension will work with the mogz chassis that flex's?

the chassis will still be able to flex (because they mount to a simlar place to the original coils its just the coils was so big the would not exstend more than the free lenth ) the cage is going to be the challenge do i keep the frame flex and three point mount the cage or because the suspension can move more freely just mount it up solid and let the suspension do all the flexing just have to see when we get round to it
wheels are the main priority at the moment Wink

I would keep the chassis flexy, every little helps!

Plus you don't know i th cage could fracture over time from the chassis wanting to flex????

Does it really need that panhard rod?

If it all goes tits up I'll have the axles Wink Laughing

the frame would only flex because the springs were so heavy duty that it forced the frame to flex well all that stress has gone
the pan hard rod is going in favor of an "A" frame which would keep the axel in line
did you see that set on eblag i got him to email me some pics of the axels
£475 for some steel to weigh in (they had removed the tubes and left it stud in a field they dont have a seal in the axel and there was moss growing out of the pinion opening so i can only geuss how much waters got inside to eat away at the ring and pinion/difflock )going to be a hell off an axel rebuild
