Does anyone still go on here?
I'm looking at some work on my rear end, looks like...
The noise, and feeling is almost like something seizing and letting go again during each rotation of the wheels. More apparent turning and going very slowly.
It's not the brakes binding. The wheels spin fine.
Guessing this is to do with the LSD friction surfaces.
Will changing oil + fresh LSD additive be worth doing first or is something worn out and needs changing?
This is on 97 XJ 2.5tdi
Correct oil level.
Changed 30000 miles ago
U/J & pinion good
1/8" noticeable in and out play on driveshafts, got new bearings & seals to fit.
I do know already the D35 is known to be a shitter of a back axle, but it did used to work fine so if I can fix it I will.

It's been quite quiet on here for a while. It may be worth trying ********, Jeep specific club forum. I've found answers to a few Jeep "quirks" there.
