A few years back i changed from 16in to 15in wheels on my Disco 200tdi because of difficulty's in getting 16in tyres (33x12.50), I now have a D2 Td5 and would like to stay with the 33x12.50 tyre size but am not seeing many options out there in 15 in apart from bfg.
Now as i need a new wheel combo should i stick with 15in or go back to 16in ??.
I have the old tyres of my 200tdi (33x12.50 15 discover stt pro) still with 17mm tread and my thoughts are new 8x15 rims for the D2 and the stt pro;s or sell the tyres and get both rims and tyres in 15 or 16 inch.
Your opinions please.

Mouse, you can get a 10x15 5-120 modular GOJOS make them. Weller wheels list 8x15 perhaps giving them a ring will tell you whether or not they do them in 5-120.
Other than that it will be back to 16 inch and 305/70R16 if you want to go that big.

Hi
Thanks for your reply, looked at the suppliers you suggested and weller do not do the size i need and Gojos are quite expensive at about £70 each.
It looks like since i bought wheels a few years ago most of the suppliers have disappeared.
Would my tyres be ok on a 10in rim as i seem to remember when i bought them there was for a 8in rim max ??, and what is the difference between a 8 or 10 in wheel (apart from the obvious)
Thanks
Mouse.

33x12.50R15's will go on 8 inch to 11 inch rims. I would suggest that the reason very few if any people list 5x120 15 inch rims is down to the size of brake calipers and the lack of clearance on them.8x16 modulars have been around for some while now, they first became available in Oz. As for offsets, 8x16 modulars vary between ET25 to ET45, the standard offset on D2 rims is ET57.The D2 alloys running 255/65R16 tyres use factory fitted 8 inch wide alloys, which would be ok for 285/75R16 tyres giving you a diameter of 33 inches virtually the same as as 33x12.50R15, if you went with standard D2 alloys. Going by some of the prices these days it might be cheaper to go for 2nd hand factory alloys as lot of D2 people with them went up to 18 inch alloys. A low (ish) ET figure will lead to the wheel sticking out farther but go with what the tyre dealer offers.ET0 means the nave plate of the wheel is mounted equal distance from the rear edge of the wheel and the front, so what the dealer quotes will give some idea where the wheel will sit and what work will be needed to gain maximum clearance for the wheel/tyre combo you want to fit.
Nave plate in the middle of the wheel is zero offset
Nave plate towards the back of the wheel is negative offset
Nave plate towards the outside of the wheel is positive offset.

Thank you for all that.
It now looks definite that i will have to go to a 8x16 modular rims, I have found that i cannot go to a 33in tyre as the gearing will not cope properly and there will also be **** loads of other issues.
My D2 is a auto so unless i change the transfer box 33in is a non starter.
Do you know of any online tyre converters that i can use to work out what size metric tyres are in inches especially the width, think i will have to go down to 30-31 inch tall but would like to still go for 12in wide if possible.
Also will wheel spacers help to give me more offset or do they just help to stop rubbing ??
Sorry to ask you all these questions but not many people seem to be on here anymore.

Mouse,
www.1010tires.com is a good place to get diameter etc, it's a Canadian site so spell tires as i have above.
You will get more offset because you have moved the wheel outwards usually by 25 to 30mm.
You can fit a late R380 (Td5) transfer box to a D2.
Heard of people fitting 265 and 285/75 onto D2 but the 285 does make the gearing 'long' as in not going top gear.
265/75 will give you just under 32 inches of diameter.
