So sadly the time has come to move on from this project as I have another, more sensible car to drive. So if anyone want to buy this car as a whole or parts I'm open to offers. I will be advertising it properly come the weekend, if you want first dibs on anything drop me a pm.

Sorry to hear that! I've gone the other way with mine - gotten all enthused. Making it into a pickup at the moment.

Also took it to a pay n play and really enjoyed the power.

So a few months on, how are things panning out?

Looking at doing the same conversion on my vit. Ive got a 16v lump to stick in my 8V that is due to be put onto the engine stand for a full refresh (bearings, belts, pump etc) that I was planning on the completing the turbo swap before i drop the engine in.

Have you managed to hook up the snorkel yet?

I haven't yet no. But that's more down to not getting round to putting the batteries in the back. I've not put it near any water recently though. Its not really an issue with the mod to be honest - its just me being lazy.

I've had no issues with the vehicle (not had any bangs out of mine). Still pulls well and puts a smile on my face. I'm confident enough in it that I'm going to be driving it from Bristol to Nottingham and back at the weekend.

I've completed the pickup conversion which has messed up the weight distribution a bit but that's fine as I'm planning on doing more to it which means suspension rebuild anyway.

Where about are you?
Are you planning on ordering the kit or coming up with your own?

Looking at doing my own setup, but using a slightly smaller turbo (TB22 off a 300zx, my other car) and a top mount intercooler off a Pulsar GTiR.

The main thing about yours that grabbed my attention was the exhaust manifold, its much much nicer than the ones the Auzzie guys have come up with. Unfortunately it looks like the company your bought it from have closed down their website, so trying to find out if theyre still making the manifolds.

Was the turbo you used water cooled, couldnt see in the thread if you took a coolant feed from anywhere?

Website looks to actually be there now! I couldn't find it when I bought it...

http://www.dwrpower.com/

They've recently updated it reading the fb page. I communicated via the fb page...

https://www.facebook.com/DWR-Power-1094522117231098/

Still looks very active. Looks like they've shipped quite a few kits since I bought mine. Generally got back to me pretty quick on enquiries.

Yup water cooled. Tapped into it somewhere around the throttle body.

The kit is a pretty easy install. I just faffed a lot and took my time. Worth mentioning you'll need to get your own exhaust manifold gasket as the kit doesn't include a replacement. I had issues with the supplied BOV too (or diverter or whatever you want to call it). Looking at fb I think they are supplying a different valve now. Thinking about it the biggest hassle was getting the sump off to weld in the oil drain. Front axle etc needs to come off to do that.

The supplied turbo is a K03. It spins up nice and quick.

They list manifolds here... http://www.dwrpower.com/turbo-components
Looks like they'll do custom jobs too looking at the bottom of the page.

So it is!

The manifold for your turbo would fit the turbo im going to use, which is effectively a T25 with slightly different internals.

Reasonably priced aswell!

Are you planning to use a FPR or have you got another plan?

Would be great if you posted some details in this thread when you build it.

Yeah I e got a spare SARD 1:1 rising rate FPR that I can use for the build.

I've read somewhere on an american or Australian forum that they recommend upping the fuel injector size, using injectors off another Suzuki as a donor. Been trying to find the thread as to what size they suggest upgrading to. Really you don't want to be taking the injectors above 80% duty cycle at full throttle, but without knowing what they would run at at say 7psi it's hard to know if the change of injectors is essential.

Also thinking off running a piggy back Ecu (something like an AEM fuel/ignition controller) to get the best out of the setup. Unless the stock Ecu can be reflashed with a new map?

I don't think the stock ECU can be flashed from my understanding. I think there's a couple of folks on here who are quite knowledgeable on the subject who might chime in.

I've not messed with the injectors. I did research when I got the kit and didn't come across anyone swapping out injectors. I haven't done it and haven't had any issues so I wouldn't say they are essential. I'm happy with my power gains as is. Gear selection on hills is far more forgiving and its probably faster than an offroad modified vitara should be driven anyway.

What other mods have you got on your Vit? Or is this not a Vit?

Yeah it's a vit tin top 8v, 31's, 2 inch Susp lift with pro comp rears with relocation brackets, Monroe fronts, diff drops, prop and heim spacers, 3 inch body lift, RMD armour, snorkel, metal rear bumper. Just the usual basic off road mods.

Main reason for going turbo is mainly to improve on road drive ability, 5th gear is pretty much useless with any sort of incline. Would like to be able to take it further afield than Hampshire and be able to maintain a reasonable motorway speed. Obviously having a gob load more torque off road will be great, but I'll have to be sensible until I fit a steel front diff casing.

Looking into changing the suspension setup as bit bone shakingly stiff both on and off road.

So I'm now breaking this vitara as I have no where to keep it. If anyone wants any parts let me know! If you know anyone who wants something.... Once again let me know. I'm going to miss this car, the turbo really transformed it.

Hey guys, sorry to dig up an old thread, but does anyone have any updates on this G16B turbo setup?? It seems DWR has closed their website and their Facebook as well. Even RaceEnergy has removed the G16B kits from their website.
Any info would be awesome!!

Thanks, Dan
