Hi all, I'm looking to put my old 91 Samurai back on the road and wondered what the best setup is for on road use rather than offroad. At the moment its got a 1.6l 8v Vitara engine and an SJ410 transfer box, but I do also have a sammy t-box. It won't be offroad anymore as I have a 1200cc yamaha buggy for blasting around in, so I want to put my Sammy back on the road with a nice amount of speed, acceleration and comfort. What engine, tranny, axles and diffs would you guys recommend for this? I'd lift it a bit and widen it also. Reasonable sized wheels with something like BF A/T tyres also. I want it to look mean but don't need any real offroad performance. Any ideas would be appriciated. I've got most of the bodywork off just now and will be taking the whole body off soon so will be ready to start stripping off all the stock stuff thats past its sell-by date.

back in the day the 2 litre vauxhall carlton engine and gearbox swap was popular. i guess they are getting thin on the ground now...on the plus side the power steering off the carlton can be made to fit easily too.
