As far as I know the side facing seats are not legal in the UK - but don't quote me.
It would be a good idea to check with your insurance company as well as they probably wouldn't like it

And you'd probably only get more seating capacity if you were carrying legless people (I don't mean pi5sed either )

Thanks for the reply. I currently have a 1997 Hyundai Galloper (which is basically an older-series Pajero vehicle built by Hyundai after Mitsubishi moved on to a newer model and sold the body-presses to Hyundai).
It has similar bench seats in the back, and seats 9 adults, with 4 on the rear bench seats, albeit not in great comfort.
I plan to use my newly-bought Pajero over in Ibiza where a group of us have a holiday place.
So, we want maximum seats for short rides down to the beach etc. I know these seats wouldn't be too comfy on long trips, but driving around Ibiza, almost all journeys take a maximum of 20 minutes!
I have had the Galloper over there for 8 years and its starting to rust and to need frequent repairs. On its V5 it actually lists an amaaaazing 10 seats.
See this photo of it, and of the back seats:

As far as I am aware the European union required all seats to have 3 point belts as of about 2006 which essentially outlawed side facing seats in the same stroke.

Thanks for this, I am still going to do this one way or another though.
Because it is what I want.
I may end up taking the bench seats out of the old Galloper before I sell it, and then mounting them in the new vehicle. It'll probably just be a question of drilling some holes in the floor at the back, or there might be mounting points for Mitsubishi's own offering somewhere.
The web pages I found on Mitsi's own web site clearly show these seats as an option in 2017.

Which is fine if you ain't bothered about getting a tug off the local constabulary, or arguably more seriously being held personally liable in the event of a collision. Not a risk I would be willing to take.

I am not running my life around bureaucrats and petty officials.
Anyway, moving swiftly on, does anybody have any idea if they still sell em with these seats?
Or if they used to sell them like this in UK/EU?
They definitely seem to show that the current model Pajero is available with 3rd row seats like this, otherwise it presumably would not be on their web site.
All knowledge very gratefully received!

Pajero or Shogun?
Pajero is Japanese so the side facing seats would be legal in Japan (possibly)
Does the Shogun (which comes under EU regs) catalogue show the side facing seats?

Wow. With an attitude like that you are more likely to be running your life around big Dave and the boys in the block C showers. Good luck.

I don't think the global Mitsubishi site shows a separate page for "Shogun".
They are only called Shoguns in the UK. Everywhere else they are Pajeros, or occasionally Monteros. Including the EU countries.
The one I have just bought (collecting today) is a LHD Pajero, originally bought in Dubai I think.

With all of the vehicles I have looked at in 2017-18 I am yet to see a Shogun/Pajero with that style of 3rd row seats fitted. You can't use more than 8 seats (I think )In certain parts of Europe without an addition to your licence.

Thanks for the reply. It may well be that these seats are not sold in new vehicles in Europe. I am aware of some European countries limiting driving of vehicles with more than 8 seats. My British licence says I can, and thus is not a problem in Spain etc.
I am going to phone Mitsubishi or their local dealer and see if I can get part numbers for these seats anyway.

I only picked my Pajero up yesterday night, so today I got the model number off the plate under the bonnet.
Mine is V95WLRXVLW.
Anyone know what that is?
It was definitely sold new in Dubai. I can tell that easy because while driving it today I noticed some writing in ARABIC engraved in the door mirrors that presumable say something like "Pyramids in the rear view mirrors are closer than they appear". Or something!
I found this web site giving Mitsi parts catalogues and such, but it does not seem to feature models beginning V95W, why is that?

Anyone?

V95WLRXVLW covers two versions of the Pajero if you have a GLS H/L it is a E77 model, if you have a GLS L/L you have a E83 model. It also tells me they are 3.5 petrol's.

Thanks for your reply. I know my car was sold new in Dubai, so at least the air-con ought to be decent! Which is what I want, because I am taking it over to live in Ibiza soon.
I would still like to do the 9 seats thing if its possible.
