The expense of running a Qashqai family car & my modified GV was too much so I parted with the GV as it wouldn’t have passed another MOT. I don’t offroad now but need a 4x4 for my shooting plus pulling a trailer approx 1200kg. I have been looking at Outlanders as a suitable twin purpose vehicle. The 7 seats ate handy but I’m not sure about ground clearance, towing ability & fitting taller tyres. Any info appreciated, thanks

A mates boss had one for his caravan and it seemed to be quite capable if somewhat more car than crossover. I wouldn't though because of the general reputation of mitsi engines going pop, but that's just my personal bias.

The Outlander usually come on either 215/70R16, or 225/55R18, the 16 inch would be the one to go for BFG, Maxxis and others do an all terrain tyre to fit them. The Environmental Agency use a 'van' version of them running 215/70R16 BFG All Terrain TA KO2 tyres on them, they went from Land Rover 110's to the Outlander.
