Turns out I had a couple of diesel leaks. One on a return pipe and a further smaller two on the metal pipes to the injector.
The whining noise was another pipe going to the turbo which I didn't locate.
With the New silicon turbo pipes and the EGR bypass and these problems sorted, can't wait to see how it drives!
Hopefully someone may find this helpfull if they have the same or similar issue?

Thanks for letting us know mate! Often threads are left with no post to say the solution. This should help someone.

Hello friends, I know this is old. But I have a similar problem with fuel around my injectors on top. I removed the cover and ran it, at idle I see nothing. But I found that if I revv the engine up, it sprays a nice geyser of fuel right by the #1 injector base. (closest to the vehicles right side) Any suggestions?
