Hi, I've joined the forum because I've got a G10/Jimny set-up in my car and have a question that I think you guys would have more knowledge about...
My motor is a 2002 3cyl G10 and I had it mated up to a Jimny box so I could run a rear wheel drive.
The starter motor didn't line up so the bell housing was cut and the Swift starter was welded on. This worked for a couple of years with no trouble until a few weeks ago when that part of the housing destructed into a few pieces!
I bought another Jimny box but obviously the starter doesn't line up.
The guy who originally did the modification isn't available any more.
Do any of you know what gearbox will line up with the G10 block without modding?

I think you will probably be looking at a mk2 Suzuki Swift gearbox for that

That's what the G10 motor was from - I needed rear wheel drive which is why I had a Jimny box mated up.

I presume you are using the early Jimny box with the G series? you could also use an sj413 or samurai gearbox.
What flywheel are you using?
If using a sj/jimny G13 flywheel (and clutch) you should be able to just use a sj/jimny starter with no mods. I presume the G10 flywheel is smaller??

I have the G10 flywheel but the Jimny box doesn't work with the starter - I'm looking at the SJ413 box as the G13 engine is a direct swap for the G13 in the Swift series.

no worries, I think you might get away with just an sammy/jimny starter and some grinding, I've been trying to find out if the g10 flywheel is the same diameter as the g13 sammy/jimny flywheel, it's certainly thinner and runs as smaller clutch but it should still work with the sammy/jimny starter as long as the diameter is the same.
