I was idling the truck for about 20mins, the other day, when I noticed, after I'd stopped the engine, that oil had started seeping out of the coolant expansion tank. On gently unscrewing the cap I realised it was under pressure.
I first thought it would be the head gasket, but googling suggests it might be the oil cooler. The temp sensor housing on the top was pretty badly corroded and replaced recently, so corrosion elsewhere in the coolant system is possible.
I've begun the process of removing everything to get to the oil cooler, but would welcome some advice. If it is the oil cooler, are the ~£150 aftermarket repair kits any good, or will the ~£300+ LR part be required?
Many thanks.
Peter.
