Since im midway through sorting out the tinworm on my trak i thought i would pick peoples knowledge on the whole tuning aspects to boost my enthusiasm. Plus there seems to be very very little knowlege available on mechanical diesel tuning, so any ideas and thoughts welcome! .
so far my ideas were large front intercooler - (merc sprinter as possible donor) large 2.5" exhaust with seperate wastegate a foot into the downpipe and possible k and n. egt guage to be fitted and boost guage fitted(15psi at the moment) i do have a mech boost controller too. with a pump tweek i think 1 revolution it seems a large improvement over std. but where else can we go and is there a bhp limit of the 2.8td indy lumps? i mean would a hybrid turbo help? or would you never get usable power? and i have read about changing fuel pump plungers from 9mm to 11mm. i would like to know more about the whole mechanical tuning without a runaway diesel preferably or detonation! but there seems to be no real books or info about? i'm hoping people like parrot can enlighten me on the whole diesel tuning cheers!
