That'd funny if it wasn't true...

...we've known about this for years...

...and no-one has mentioned the (alleged) significant defects in the gas turbines or their management system yet Cool

Not all you read is often the full picture...

...and no-one is denying what's been published so far as well.

Doesn't that mean that the problem is worse than what has been published?

The Ministry of Defence’s admission they now need major work comes after years of trying to hush up engine failures, or attempts to dismiss them as “teething trouble”.

A former First Sea Lord said the disclosure was "extremely worrying".

Lord West of Spithead said: “Clearly there is a major fault here. Initially people were saying these are teething problems and you always have teething problems with new ships. It is quite clear it is more than teething problems now."

"It is bad enough fighting your ship when people are dropping bombs on it and blowing bits of equipment out and you keep it going - that's what we're trained to do. You don't expect suddenly to lose all power when you are steaming along normally," he said.

Is there any wonder about there being 5000 defects considering the name of one of the destroyers:

Not long ago I had the choice of a couple of ships to join...

...and I chose the Southampton because her pennant number was D90...

...guess what? Spent most of her time breaking down.

A friend of mine had one of the first Evoques.

It spent most of its first year off the road and in a garage, and my friend reckons he put over 12,000 miles onto Land Rover courtesy vehicles.

On one occasion I was having a beer with him and the conversation was along the lines of:

So whats it at the dealers for now?

It needs a software update.

I thought you said that was the problem when I asked you two weeks ago.

It was and its still there, apparently the dealer is waiting for some boffin at land rover to actually write the software update....

Stop knocking Landrovers

Landrovers spend as much time off-road as any other 4x4

albeit in a garage
