On the way to work in the gloom this morning...

...why do people insist on sitting with their foot on the brakes lighting up all around them in a harsh red glow instead of using the handbrake?

My eyes hurt.

Because it's easier...

Anyway, why should they care about you or anyone else?

Sorry but your grumpy old git factor has just gone off the scale, I mean every other driver in the world annoys me in some way but I'm yet to be annoyed by people's brake lights.

I think you need to investigate a deeper medical problem where light is causing you issues lol

Each to their own - for instance tailgating doesn't bother me...

...as long as the other car gets out of the way Cool

If you got that close while driving, that's why they don't care about the brake light glare Shocked Laughing Laughing

quite a few of us in the theatre world used to suffer from this to some degree or another.

but then when you spend most days playing with 3500w light bulbs, somethings gotta give....

My D4 is automatic and the handbrake is electronic - no choice but to sit on the brake pedal.

Now, those cars where one front fog comes on with the indicator thus hiding it .... who the f**k thought that was a good idea. Yes, lets light up the corner that the driver can't ******* well see anyway ...

no.

im gonna win again.

those people who think because the dashboard is lit up, that they actually have their lights on. then when you flash them for 3 miles give you a mouthful at the lights because you blinded them.

for people, read women.

and the two policemen that at least had the decency to mumble an apology.

Because they didn't learn to drive properly . Think cars are getting to advanced now days and making people lazy , parking sensors , automatic lights now cars park them selves . Learning in a car like that surely makes a driver inexperienced to drive an older car ? 🤔

I think that makes them inexperienced to drive any car.

The beauty of a self parking car is that you can get out to watch it and if it does hit another car you can run off or claim someone else or nobody was driving.

Well maybe not, but it would be a good candid camera joke.

And on bikes its recommended to tap the rear brake pedal so that the brake lights flash so the blin gits in cars can see the bike!

Bets on how long it takes for a court case against a manufacturer when one of these 'intelligent' features malfunctions and causes an accident??

You'll find autos usually go between d and n without having to hold the button in so that you can flick them into neutral in traffic to take the strain off the gearbox and stop it just pumping oil around for no purpose other than to make it hot. You can them slip the handbrake on incase it annoys the grumpy get behind you Wink

You could even try R and push accelerator. Then your brake lights will be the least of his worries. Laughing

I remember driving an old Renault that had a rather undefined gearbox. You knew if you'd got reverse at the lights by accident as there would be an enormous gap behind you at the lights Smile
