I've got 2 like that but the battery life isn't fantastic.

If I need better quality I use the hugely expensive one bought for shooting ...

me too, but the quality of light is crap.

i need one that will light up a front door up 40 foot of driveway.

people round here cant afford door numbers.

and the posher the house, the less chance they will have them.

but

they number their wheelie bins

i need a focusable light so i dont light up the house that is still bright enough to read the black numbers, mounted on a perspex square.........

and placed over a black wall........ Rolling Eyes

They've probably already nicked each others bins...so the numbers on them don't mean its the right house Laughing

I'm intrigued: some people collect stamps, others collect coins and some people collect train and bus numbers. So do you collect house numbers, or do you deliver pizzas, or is there some other nefarious activity local to where you live? If the latter, is there a club people can join?

Sounds like a good business. Nick house numbers off peoples front doors and then sell them back a few days later.

Sorry to go all sensible but I'd have a look here:

http://www.heinnie.com/lighting/flashlights

Their service is spot on and the filters on their site will probably be more objective in determining your short list than other peoples recommendations will be. If you search for reviews of your shortlist on a site like candlepower forums I'm sure you;ll find beam shots with ease.

That said, the latest addition to my collection was a limited edition titanium version of this http://www.heinnie.com/eagtac-d25a-clicky-xm-l2-u2. With the lithium cell, it would meet your needs but it's not focusable (do you really need that?)

Also run off lithiums, I really like my Jetbeam Jet-III ST http://www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/jetbeam-jet-iii-pro-st-standard. It's a few years old now but I think it would fine for your needs and is one of my favourites for size, controls & looks etc.

Hopefully my next light will be from this kickstarter project I've backed http://kck.st/1lETDBt.

Good luck!

Don't be silly he's not selling them back to the original house Rolling Eyes

He sells them to their neighbours. so if you nicked 12 on one night, you sell it to 21 the next night, or to 1 and 2 for a bit more profit. Laughing

Try these Ged,
The T-20 is plenty for the range you need matey, 3 mode setting, press button at the tail end for 3 different light settings, low/med/high, front bezel twist for flood to spot and run on 1 rechargeable battery for hours on end.
I use the same lights for night shooting. Can't fault them or the company fella. Come in White light, Red or Green or in my case also Infra Red for my Nightvision.
