Someone mentioned to me that the later L200 autos have a different fuel pump and can run perfectly on SVO.
Is this correct?

And yet, across the gulf of forums, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this vehicle with envious eyes; and slowly, and surely, they drew their conclusions for us....

I'm not near my computer until Tuesday pm and having upload trouble from my phone.
I'm not sure where the pump is so when I find it I'll get a photo uploaded.
I'm not exactly a diesel expert despite owning them for 15 years

you "should" have around 3 hoses to and from the filter.
feed, return and IP feed....
presuming it is an old school pump as thought.
follow the hoses and take pics of anything they go into.

Been busy .....
I've identified the fuel pump and its the same as on the manual L200 - unsurprisingly!
Many L200 owners steer clear of supermarket diesel never mind veg oil!

I've never been happy with supermarket diesel at all and have had to add an additive to get anywhere near the expected performance and MPG. I've used it in 300 tdi, TD5 and Citroen/Peugot diesels and had the same poor performance in all of them. Using Shell at my local garage and they all ran better.

in that case.....
no.
it will run twin tank, but as you say, they are fragile in the pump dept at best. they will run on well made bio, and users report an increase in mpg, but they also go through EGR valves at an alarming rate (£160ish each)
