Two pieces od 24.4mm square aluminium tube do a good job of lifting the seats. At 30 quid a length it's a steal.

As for the headlights. Hella make good 7inch headlight units.

Well after doing a 'beyond the brochure' experience last Friday, I've decided that a 110 is a viable proposition for me too. I've put a deposit down on one today and pick up my Orkney grey 110 XS next Saturday!

Didn't realise the experience day would be that expensive when I booked it!

I got mine free when I was thinking of buying the 110. (Actually I'd already ordered it but I didn't tell them that when I booked the test drive!).

I'm not at home and able to access my photos of the experience day I did - which was fantastic. I learnt far more than I have ever done on a pay & play day or similar. It was worth every penny, but I didn't think that I would make a detour to every dealer I could on the way home! That's why it was expensive.

That said, I think it's the best purchase I've ever made.

What's good?
Well, I am lucky to have good neighbours. We all look out for each other etc. But without out fail, every one of my male neighbours (and 2 of the female ones) has felt it necessary to knock and complement me on my new car.
One of our board directors at work has a 110 as his daily drive. He now stops me for a chat if passing in corridors.
I've heard kids walking past comment, 'Look at that cool car'
I smile each time I drive it.
It's the feeling that it instils.

What's bad?
Well, the lights are shocking. I've ordered Wipac Crystals & Osram Nightbreakers to fit this weekend.
The driving position could be better. I fitted Mud Rails within a week of having it. I've since removed them. They lift your seating position by 30mm. For me that's enough to shift the driving position such that it makes a junction reached from an uphill off-slip that I drive daily so awkward that they had to come out. I've other options that I'm looking at here, but still hope to gain some extra legroom without having to duck so much to see under the door top.
I'd prefer to have more 'get up & go' from the lights. I think that a BAS re-map may be on the cards. I think Richard has one, and have heard good things about them from other sources. Makes 2nd gear pull aways an option by all accounts.

That's it so far, but I've not yet done 1,000 miles in it.

Yup, pretty much snap.

I had a few neighbours, who would normally just stop and chat when I'm washing my car, ask to look and get inside etc. they just love it. They instil A kind of child-like quality in grown men...leave you with a feel good factor.

If you want GOOD headlights. Then fit proper headlight units. Hella, Cibie or Marechal. Hella are easily bought in the UK.

THEN wire the lights with proper sized wire with relays and shorted runs of wire.
There should be plenty of places, on here ?, where you can find Headlights, a better way of light by mmgemini.

Very Happy
After the epics I've had with mine (example below) I'll never let it go - although maybe my son might claim it when he's old enought to drive!

As a Christmas present to myself, I bought a 1-din all-in-one system. Not exactly top of the range, but I was hoping good enough.

Box duly arrived from fleabag with the unit, gps connector, all the wires, reasonable instructions, tv aerial, reverse camera, iPod connector, maps, etc etc

Within 2 hours it was all wired in, everything working (except tv unit is analogue).

Unit provides:
Usual radio, cd
Automatic switch to reverse camera when reverse engaged
Bluetooth to phone
Voice command
DVD
Tv
Gps (up to date)
USB connection

For 180 quid, I most certainly cannot complain!

Latest gadget.....a ScanGaugeII odb reader.

Very small monitor that plugs straight into the obd under the dash. Provides gauges (temp, mph, voltages, rpm etc), a decent trip computer with average and instant mpg, and an ecu code reader with basic freeze-data of what tripped the code. Ability to reset codes.

At 118 quid, it has already virtually paid for itself after my check-engine light came on. Was able to determine the fault and reset the code. I doubt I'd have any change if I'd taken it to a garage.

Brilliant.

Don't be tempted to put higher wattage bulbs in, the wiring can't handle it.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a set of Truck-lite LED headlights from Devon 4X4. At nearly £600 they certainly couldn't be descibed as cheap but what a difference - I can actually see where I'm going now!

Latest warranty update ...

Car has done 25,000 miles in 18 months and has had a few issues in that time and the latest was a diff oil seal found at the last service and the driver's seat foam collapsing on the left bolster. A new seat is being delivered and fitted next week!

Still very happy with it!

Sorry folks, none there Sad

On another note, I bought 2 packs of 2mm 'silent coat' sound deadening pads. Installed in all doors and under the floor. Ran out before I got to the roof, but WHAT A DIFFERENCE!. Fantastic stuff.

Well after nearly 18 months with mine, I thought it only fair to update this thread and report that I've got rid of it already.
On Saturday I collected my brand new (10 miles on the clock!) 110 XS CSW. I chose to spec it in Corris Grey with Sawtooth alloys, premium seats, stereo upgrade, carpets and tow step.
So what's it like living with one? - Already I think I'd struggle to imagine what it would be like to live without one - I intend to keep this one forever!

Good for you Budda, I regret selling my 2.4 Puma.

Can I suggest geting some clear vinyl wrap stuff and stick on the sills (especially drivers side) to avoid wearing the paint off. I know Ian had that problem and I would have had I not protected it. I also put some just on the rear quarter behind the rear doors so teh dogs claws didn't scratch the paint as she jumped out.

I've got a few bits you might be interested in ....
