I stripped it down for a full rebuild and then had an infection that led to me loosing my sense of balance. Not an ideal situation for racing!
3 years later I am back where I need to be so I have restarted (in a gentle way) the rebuild.
I have had a chance to reappraise what I was doing so I am going coil sprung.
I have started to mock up the front, hoping to get the back done over the next month.

Other places like Facebook are booming !!
Nice to see you all back on here though

Nice to see you back, Mike.
All the forums have been dead quiet with the 'social' media doing well but more and more people are coming back to the technical forums because that is where the information and research support is.
Its also been a money thing. Ours is not a cheap hobby and the state of the art seems to require more and more cash. That said, there is a new breed of lower cost grassroots entry into 'proper' competition with the moneyed guys doing Ultra4 events. Stuff like The Scotia is still cheap (relatively) to enter and compete in and you don't need £10k of winches to do the event.
Your truck looks brilliant. More photos please

Wow all the oldies are crawling out of the woodwork
I would come back on here if it was a bit more active!
Haven't been on here for like 2 weeks and there were only about 4 or 5 new posts in the Suzuki section

Here's my truck now for who wanted more pics
37s on suzuki axles, ridiculous !!
So what I thought we could do on here is re introduce our selves? You know like you do on a new forum?
Because new people must come on here and be like, nothing happening? So if we all put a Thread up saying I'm mike, here's my truck ect
People are likely to be more interested? Get what I mean?!
Mike

Been dead on here for about a year, i come on every day to see if I can help with any tech info or just to look at people's builds but there isn't much. I've put up my jimny build but with running agarage and a remap company i don't get time to actually do my own truck. I always tell people about this site as theres so many people on here with so much knowledge but they seem to have disappeared

My truck:
Vitara JXTD 'commercial'

Calmini 3" lift kit
235/75 15 mud terrains
steel front axle
stubby mod - to allow me to run two passenger side shafts
Impreza seats (soon to be changed)

Restored an modified this for my dad earlier in the year
And I have been working on this as well as a few other major welding jobs on friends SJs

No I sold it in November to a chap from corby who has gone through it and done all the little repairs and even replaced the battered doors. So you might see it around the pay and plays near you

Blimey! Seems to be a bit of a reunion going on in here. I still have Shortass but he is looking very neglected. I had a mooch around between Christmas and New Year. Everything I have done is still holding up and is amazingly rust-free after 5 - 6 years sitting in the garage.
All I really need is engine cooling, rear brakes, harness reinstalled, a trailer or A-frame and should be good to go.
