its been a while for me as well...

well i have just put a 6 pot diesel and auto box in a simca marmon, but that has a separate transfer box and was a easy fit.

now a u1000... as it has no gearbox, does it also have no transfer box, is it the same type of thing i,e gearbox and transfer box joined together as in a 404

if you have nothing could you fit the remote transfer box out of a marmon

The u 1000 has a remote transfer box, so any engine and gearbox for a rear wheel drive will fit as long as the rear prop can be fabricated.?

What engine and box did you use and why please?

Thanks

Have you actually looked closely at what is there and what isn't? If the rump box is missing then its more than just a prop shaft.

In which case yeah, anything really. Sprinter engine and box would be pretty close to stock.
