Hi all, Got a problem when changing from 3rd to 2nd it crunches into 2nd gear. Changing from 2nd to 3rd its very stiff to get out of 2nd. If I let the engine speed drop down to idle speed and slow down to about 8-9 MPH it will change from 3rd to second without crunching. The clutch is high. But no other gear change is affected. A new clutch will be put on in the next couple of months. Never used to do this just started yesterday. Any ideas.

Sounds like the syncromesh is on it's way out - I've never had much luck just changing single parts in a gearbox - I'd start looking for a replacement box... or learn the art of double de clutching Wink Laughing

As Xpajun says it could be synchro's or it could be worn shaft bearings.
Either way its a rebuild or replacement box.
