Are they any use, I was a member back in 2005 when we were fighting the YDNPA over their plans to carry out ETRO's on some of the major lanes in the area, many of us attended meetings in Grassington but all to no avail, I did not renue my membership as I felt let down as did many others. I have since rejoined and found that the IT support re Trailwise is rubbish and have now withdrawn my membership. Am I the only one with this issue or are there more?. Can anyone tell me how many lanes have they saved over the past ten years.. This may seem selfish to many but I will not subscribe to a lost cause that on the surface appears inept.

vtrax had to recover a GLASS executive from a ditch last weekend.
he was walking from the AGM back to his car (the exec, not vtrax) wearing a nice suit and carrying a briefcase when he veered off piste and ended up sunk to his knees in smelly mud at the bottom of a 10 foot ditch.....
oh the irony.......

Perhaps it may be a fairer question to ask how many greenlanes have been saved by ALL of the organisations and groups with similar objectives that support our cause*. The answer is very few, if any. This is not surprising considering the massive and well organised opposition who have the ear of the authorities and want to prevent us using greenlanes.
Things become a lost cause when people stop supporting/subscribing to organisations such as GLASS as this weakens them. The more members they have the stronger they are and only if you are a member can you do something to shake them up and make them stronger and put some of the wrongs to right. If people are not prepared to contribute to the orgaisations then they will cease to exist and there will be no opposition to closing all greenlanes, then it will truly be a lost cause.

* "our cause" means the motorised use of greenlanes, not neccessarily the policy objectives of GLASS.
