LONG CAUSEWAY/STANAGE PERMANENT TRO
Extract from PDNPA's Audit Resources and Performance Committee briefing papers for their meeting on 18 July 2014 ,
Quote: | Background
4. In May 2012, statutory consultees were consulted under Regulation 4 of the 2007 Regulations. Members of the Audit Resources and Performance (ARP) committee visited the route on 19 July 2012 prior to the committee meeting on 20 July 2012 at which it was resolved to proceed to a public consultation on a proposal for a TRO to prohibit use by mechanically propelled vehicles on the Long Causeway route (Minute 39/12). The consultation on the proposed TRO under Regulations 5-7 of the 2007 Regulations took place from September to November 2012. A further ARP Members’ site visit took place on 19 September 2013 (Appendix 1). At the ARP Committee meeting on 20 September 2013, it was resolved to make a permanent TRO that will have the effect of prohibiting use by mechanically propelled vehicles at all times on this route (Minute 57/13). The full report and minutes, which Members are asked to re-read, can be found here.
5. The Authority is not able to make its order as there are two temporary orders in force made by Derbyshire County Council (DCC) which prevent the Authority making an order. DCC’s orders have been made to facilitate their proposed works. The latest phase of works commenced on 30 June 2014. DCC's temporary orders will cease on the completion of this phase of the works. |
DCC have stuck to their completion date of 29th August to finish BOTH TROs. that includes the complete closure during the working day, AND the width restriction. DCC say they will leave the barriers in place, but tie the gates open. DCC have it documented that the Peak Park TRO is due to start on 19th Sept, so that's ~3 weeks during which full size vehicles should be able to take a 'last run', posing for photos, etc. DCC have handed the barrier gate keys to the Peak Park.
Prior to the AR&P Committee meeting on 18 July members made a site visit, but at the meeting there was no discussion and the Committee resolved to implement their earlier TRO decision. So after 19th Sept the full TRO will apply as resolved under . Item 6 of the AR&P Committee meeting of 18 July 2014

You may well be right. The possible date for PDNPA's permanent TRO could be 19th September
