Visiting Brighton/Newhaven area 1st w/e of august, any local knowledge or folks up for exploring on the Sunday? (Stock disco, but experienced driver)

I have found one likely drive, app 4 1/2 miles from Alfriston to Firle, plus some E and SW of Hailsham. However my maps are almost 10 years old, so this may not be driveable now, again local knowledge appreciated.

Most, if not all lanes in West Sussex are now closed to vehicles. There are a few in East Sussex - some go nowhere so you have to turn around and go back the same way.

It would be well worth checking each lane that you find with the definitive map and the RoW officer for E Sussex

I've copied them all from the county map, its more a question of what is physically ddrive able alone.

It sure does seem the western half closed everything a long time ago as even my 2005 maps show no boats

Given that some byways are less tricky and hazardous than using the M25....... Smile

Experienced enough to know that not every lane requires a convoy of 6, with winches on every truck, experienced enough that I have never got stuck when soloing, I play it safe. Also please notice that the original post asked if anyone fancied joining in exploring.

Did you go and play?

I live near there and would meet up if you are in the area again.

I have no idea on the lanes, but providing that they are still legally open, it would be good to find out what they are like.
