Hi,
The vendor of the house we are buying has paid £125 to lift the covenant which prevented parking in the front garden without permission from the council.
Only council approved contractors are allowed to drop kerbs.
The estate agent has told us that it will cost £2,000. I have not yet confirmed that.
The kerb is only about 2"high. Probably easier to lift the gutter.

round here the council was doing it for £350.
actually that may have been the council employees......
but you needed a map showing trees and manholes, but you could draw that yerself.
but.
the housing association that owns a lot of the houses round here have just built new front walls, driveways and dropped the kerbs for free in all its properties for free

Last one that I had dropped was £600 all in (double and a half garage) - think you have to be a recognised contractor to do it.
The pavement outside my house is so low you'd have to raise it befor you dropped it
And then there's the length of 2 x 4 that many people seem to use

For my field track entrance I officially need a 5m x 3m crossover laid in to Roads standards despite the fact that the track actually runs into a layby verge which is not itself constructed to that standard.
The cost of said 5m x 3m crossover? £7,950 plus vat. Needless to say it will be a while before I can afford that.

I had mine done, it depends on the length, ie the number of kerb stones, mine was 8 I think, the councils contractor wanted £1300, I found one who did it for £900 and I paid the £150 license fee to the council.
The reason they won't do it on the cheap is they have to guarantee it for 2 years and the council inspect it 3 times in that period.
