The title makes no sense i know but here goes.
Im looking to get one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable-Garage-Carpo...sh=item19c6c993a2
But i need to know what will fit.
Say you measured your van/4x4 etc from the floor to the highest point in standard form ( standard tyres aswell ) . Then lets say you added a 3" suspension lift and a 2" bodylift. How much higher would the highest point be? Would it be 5" higher as youv done 5" of lift? Or would it be 2" higher as youv lifted the body 2 inches?
Would just want to make sure things will fit height wise before i buy

common sense would tell you, that if you have lifted your truck 5 inches, whether its with suspension or body - it will be 5 inches higher.........
also bigger tyres lift it too so take that into account.

Not as daft a question as you might think.
I put a supposed 2" lift on the buggy and it raised it 3.75" mainly due, I assume, to the lack of weight compared to a standard vehicle.
If buying a portable car port I'd want enough space under it to jack the car up as well.

See its only 2.4m high which 8.6 ft. Not that high when you think of the height of some things. Was mainly doing doin any work etc on so would just keep on standard tyres and only fit big ones when off roading.

Had to check the date for a moment then!
But I've been here, when I fitted the lift kit on my landcruiser I was expecting 2" or so of lift.
It ended up 4 1/2" higher rang the supplier to check I had the right springs and everything! It only just cleared the garage door on the way out!

Thats what im worried about. Last thing i want to do is buy something then find out nothing wont fit in . Im tempted to build a wooden one , that was i can make it a bit taller, would prob go a tad over 3m in height. Id imagine that should be enough

A wooden one wouldn't blow away in the first breeze that came along...

just double check with development control, over 2.5m high usually requires planning :/

As far as I know, the building can be upto 1/3 the area of your garden.
As long as it is 1m from the boundary and under 4.1m in height
And I build small timber buildings for a living so I hope I'm right as there will be a few illegal buildings about if not

I'm sure that all building and structures can't take over more than 50% of the overall space as the original house stood when it were built and it's 2.5m eaves height if within a meter of boundary
