Just a thought you have put the CDs in the rite way round as they only work one way.
I have got a 10 disc CD plyer in my xj but when I got it new it sad that it was for a grand cherokee but it works ok in my cherokee I have a manual so I will have a look for you but my advice would be pull the plug out and leave it for a bit and with luck when you plug it back in it will work.

I have been looking but cannot find the CD player hand book but I do not think that there is a reset button so unless you no someone who can look inside the box there is not much that you can do

I had a problem with it a while ago the thing that slides across the disc to read it got stuck I just moved it back and forth a bit and put the lid on plugged it in and it worked I thought that it was heading for the bin that is worth a try if not I hope that you can get another one.
