Hi there, forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology but my 2002 Nissan Patrol has developed an oil leak and it seems to be coming from what I'll call the swivel hub (front nearside). Can anybody tell me if this is a major repair and does anyone know of anyone in central Scotland who could fix this?

Hi only just seen your topic. It's common and they are usually painted not cromed like on a land rover. Depending on how badly the hub is corroded it can be repaired. You Ned a swivel hub repair kit. About £100 from Australia. Once wheels are off hubs replace all seals and fluids and pack cv joint. Gently rub down the hub so smooth (not to much) and paint with a hard wearing paint.
If the hub is pitted its fooked and it's an axle I'm afraid.
