I'm feeling embarrassed to own a modified 4x4 today.

I all started when I was following a battered 90 this morning, I have no problem with dents but this guy had a NS side mounted exhaust fitted high in the rear body corner, it was smoking badly and the guy was driving like a knob in a built up area and pedestrians where getting a face full of shoot....

Then This evening... was getting my daughter Mc Donald's as a tea time treat, 2 snotty discos in the drive through pushing each other then parking on the verges - grow up children

Anyway my rant, if I was a anti fun person would this be helping the case for responsible green lane users / organisers seeking venues etc.

I've had the occasional word with people being nobs in modified 4x4s in public places. I'm nice about it and ask them not to be knobs and give all 4x4 owners a bad name. They are usually okay about it.

It's like a fellow cyclist having a word with a red light jockey. Sometimes you get a grudging "okay" sometimes you get told to F off.

In most cases I get a huffy and grudging "okay" but one example that sticks out was the response "I'll drive what I F***ing well want" to which I replied "Agreed, just don't drive it like a complete wanchor so I don't get hassle when I drive my almost identical 4x4 around here"

It's never gone beyond that.

I've done the same with cyclists and fellow bikers and had it done to me as well and I've accepted it with as much grace as I could muster at the time.
