has anyone ever come across a hilux that screems at you for using the turbo
and feels like it could giv so much more (holding back)
had a look at turbo itself and no play in bering and it spins freely
wast gate is free
But there is a unit on exhaust between turbo and the cat (tis is where the noise is coming from does any one no what this valve is or have any idear what my problem is
Please help pulling my hair out well what little is left !!!

it might be that unit on the exhaust. its a butterfly valve related to high idle button and EGR system i think, and it has a ring of small holes round the plate (must be to regulate the flow) but if this was stuck round and the turbo spooled up it would indeed whistle like a proverbial banchee

from cold if you pop the bonnet, start her up, press the high idle button and keep watching the valve on the exhaust the wee arm coming from the diaphragm actuator should move out to close the valve then with the idle button off it should return. if i mind right mine took about 20-30 secs to move out after pressing the button, before i removed the thing that is
