It seems I joined in 2003, member number 311 (according to the list) and when I mentioned this to daughter No 1 she asked how did I find it and I have absolutely no idea!
How did you find your way to Difflock?

I could use the word Lada without it being following by howls of derisive laughter.

Maybe I was searching for a difflock
I'm surprised I found it so much later than starting winch challenge? There were more club web sites back then, so I must have lived on them?
But never mind how did you finded it, why did you stay
Joking apart, it's been extremely useful. The net in general has been a great thing for offroading

My keyboard was faulty and I must have typed in Difflock by mistake but I've got new glasses now. This may explain, but you will have to think about it!:
A chicken farmer went to a local bar, sat next to a woman, and ordered a glass of champagne. The woman perks up and says, "How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too! "
"What a coincidence," he said, "This is a special day for me, I'm celebrating."
"This is a special day for me, too, and I'm also celebrating!," says the woman.
"What a coincidence," says the man. As they clinked glasses he asked, "What are you celebrating?"
"My husband and I have been trying to have a child, and today my gynaecologist told me I'm pregnant!"
"What a coincidence," says the man. "I'm a chicken farmer. For years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally laying fertilized eggs."
"That's great!" says the woman, "How did your chickens become fertile?"
"I switched cocks," he replied.
She smiled and said, "What a coincidence!"

I can't remember when I joined (it'll appear in a minute ) but I was on a couple of club web sites before and drifted here when they folded. I think a few other people that I knew were on here before me.

How ironic that some people will google 'altavista' after that post!
As for me, I think a random search at the time along the lines of 'how to use DIFFLOCK'
Holy cow, just noticed I joined in September 2003..... That long ago eh? Damn..........

Saw a sticker on the back of a 4x4 in Donington services on the M1, must have been about 2002.

Word of mouth - a RRC owning friend told me of it - I think he found it from searching for advice when looking to buy said RRC.

How did you find your way to Difflock? |
You are member 1359.
If you mouse over your username, you get a link show up in your browser. The number in this link is your user number.
As dead accounts get removed, you will go up the list.
Likewise, I am number 10722
However, I do know on one forum where a plug in is used to re-use old user numbers. Whether that is active here, I don't know.
number one is always admin, and number 2 is usually the person who set up the forum.
I got here from googling 'Vitara'

For those that don't know and are interested the list Richard is referring to is here http://forum.difflock.com/memberlist.php
Quote: | As dead accounts get removed, you will go up the list. |
That is correct although the old accounts don't generally get cleared out so you only move up as a user deletes their own account

If you are talking the number on the left hand side that only indicates your placing on the list according to the sort method - for instance gaz7122 is Nº 1 change it to sort by name and he becomes Nº 5856

Yes, but as we are talking about date joined gaz7122 is currently the oldest/longest established account and therefore member no1, or am I missing something here?

Husband's fault. He found it and when he got into a discussion about interpreting SVA regs called in the in house lawyer. I think my first post was even on his account. It was so long ago I remember Mr Plop and Loz and Laurel (Muddibabe) and Pam the archaeologist and Sloss. Before the kids came along, that's for sure. Now I barely have time to read the forum, far less contribute much.
