Hello all,

I've replaced the short heater hoses with genuine Lada replacements, but they crack and leak after about 3 months. Any ideas for an alternative hose?

Thanks

Paulg

Not sure whether the original hoses are standard according to acceptable standards, but when my heater hoses were still coneccted, I have experienced the same problem - so I fabricated an adaptor, used a short piece of original hose which was not cracked, and linked a piece of quality local hose to the adaptor....

Thanks Danie, I think I'll do something similar. It's a shame because I do like to have everything as orginal, but perhaps I worry too much!
Kind regards

Go to your local parts store and match them up against the hoses they have in stock. If your lucky you may get them both out of the one hose since their so short.

Why are they splitting so quickly? Is the engine moving around too much?

Thanks Red ant,
like you I thought that perhaps the engine mounts may be suspect, but I've removed the hoses and they are simply cracked and perished-strange. Anyway, out here in Spain perhaps its the heat. I went along to the nearest parts factor and all they had was straight hose. So I used generous lengths of this for each connection and slid a coil spring up inside to prevent kinking! How good is that? They wont go rusty because of the A/F and the fix should last a while.
Regards
Paulg
