A fellow laner had mentioned to me that he had seen Vinyl wrapped wings on a few laning Land Rovers. Theory is it should protect your paint form the worst of the brambles, especially if you’re driving something a bit newer.
My Landy is going to be part of a display at a festival event soon so when someone suggested they wrap my Defender 110 I thought I’d give it a go so the old girl was looking her best.
Turned out great and I love the look of it. Jury is out as to whether it will protect it or she’ll shed her skin like a big black snake on the first thorny bush!!

Why in the first place?
Secondly I would be interested to see what the first bramble does down the side as I guess it won't T cut out...
...as the overhanging branch on the main road that got me a couple of days ago after the high winds did which left a nasty rub from front to back.
However, as always, I stand to be corrected.

I've used the clear version for the bits that get scuffed and scraped easily and it works perfectly.
Looks nice.

To be fair, mine is aimed at stopping shoes scuffing the valance or the dogs claws scratching as she jumps in and out. Mine is unlikely to be defence against major scrapage.

I love the look of it, but would have concerns about the long term durability. Ive seen some pictures on line of one that was covered in that spray on load liner stuff. That also looked good and I suspect might be a bit more hard wearing. I'd just be concerned about the extra weight with that i think.

Hmmmm. the clear version might be a way of sealing my multi-panel SIII leaky roof...

Ah where do I start. Mainly because it was free but also I like the colour change. Having just done an extreme weekend I can tell you it protects brilliantly against brambles. It forms a kind of shell and it will take barb wire to damage it. Also it has a 5 year guarantee. It really is an amazing material.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have paid for it I don't think but it definitely does what it says on the tin!

Anyone who follows my films will have seen I had my 110 vinyl wrapped about a year ago and have just recently removed it.
I've been asked a lot of questions about the process including why I took it off so I put this little piece together as a ‘show & tell’

In my opinion, vinyl wrap is much more practical and gives awesome look to your ride. My vinyl wrap project was installed by Gatorwraps and I am very satisfied! You might also want to check Gatorprints

If you used a high grade series vinyl then all is goo and it shouldn't budge. Just make sure that when it is being removed it is done carefully as i was left with a few small scalpel marks.

Welcome.
Those scalpel marks would be from careless wrapping / trimming not removing of the wrap would they not?
