Has anyone fitted the Jimnybits extended brake hoses?

Mine arrived last week but i'm not convinced they are the right ones. Just wondered if anyone else has used them and thought the same when they arrived?

If anyone has any pictures of the rear one mainly that would be great.

Thanks in advance, LD

Fronts are standard, they should be a bit longer than the standard ones.

rear however, is different across a few different models.. epending on whether you have a compensator, 4u and even different models of the ones with compensators.

i have seen female-female, female-male, male to male fittings across just the 4u models.. so its a little hit and miss.

What looks wrong with them?

I supply Jimny Bits with all their brake hoses and he has 2 different Vitara sets depending on whether you have a male/male or female/female rear hose....

Assuming you have ordered the correct rear hose set and assuming Rissell has sent you the correct bag then they should fit without problems...

The hoses look good and I believe my hoses are all female fitting until I had a look this morning and it was hard to see what the connection was at the opposite end to the diff on the rear hose.

It looks like it's either male or there should be a nut on the new one to lock it into the mount if that makes sense??? I didn't want to undo any until I was sure I had the right hoses.

Cheers for your time.

Perhaps the easiest way on the rear is to look at where it joins the axle: if it screws into a T-piece with a steel pipe splitting either way to each rear drum then you need the male type rear hose.

If it fastens into a bracket and continues as a single steel pipe across to the one side then you need the female end rear hose.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow. I seem to think it was a female connector at the axle end which is what made me go for the female kit but I will double check. Thanks for your help.

Just to clarify the hoses I have for the front have banjo connector at one end and a female connector at the other. The rear hose simple has a female connector at each end.

banjo for the caliper.. female for the "chassis" end.. sounds the same as mine..

and you will have to check the rear.
