I have just bought 1 of the 4 CJ3Bs made by Mitsubishi and imported into the UK. Mine is a J20 Series (4 full height metal doors with a soft top) RHD, column change with a 2.6 Petrol engine (same as used in the Colt Gallant?).
I have a number of questions which I hope someone can help me with.
First - should I post here or in the Mitsubishi section?
Where can I source parts from ? (Its in good condition but needs a good tidying).
e.g. Wiper blades,
Light switch (you have to fiddle with the switch to get the headlights to work).
Petrol Tank (it's got a spare original but there is rust on the inside), currently it's got a Fiesta tank fitted.
Door Locks - its got more types of lock on it than the Grand Union Canal.
Seat Belts. The two rear bench seats could do with seat belts fitting.
Oil Filter.
I don't know the 4x4 crowd round here, having moved from Nottingham, so if anyone can suggest a decent garage who know their stuff that would be welcome.
As you can see this Mix'n'match is all new to me (my last 4x4 was an old HiLux) so any tips or advice would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards, Bernard (Tewkesbury)

Lighthouse for parts - they keep just about everything. Also try Jeepman - IIRC he finds stuff for CJs

Nick, - It looks superb!
I hope you have better luck than I am having at the moment.
Mitsubishi UK are currently denying mine even exists
Despite the fact that mine was sold by the Colt Car Co from Cirencester in 1981 having been previously owned by a Co Director AND the Mitsubishi Press dept are having one restored at the moment!!!!!!!!
I know all this because a) Its on the log book and b) The secretary for the Mitsubishi Motors owners club (which I have just joined) is the wife of the Director in question.
Aparently if the Vin Number is not on the "Mitsa whati?" database then they get very confused.
Current state of play - they tell me they have a J27 (mine is a J26) so I've told them that for £15 I'm willing to risk it to get a thermostat for my "Meep". If that fits then I'm also going to order a Dizzy cap and HT leads for same. (Aparently the engine is an "Astra", which I'm told by the Mitsa parts bloke was made in Australia, and went in the Colt Gallant).
The only thing "wrong" with the J26 I've got - apart from the manufacturer denying it exists - is that the bench seat won't move back far enough to allow my 6ft to sit in it and operate the clutch! (I'm making a new frame so it will slide further back).
APB Products at Hartlebury have done some good work on mine and are currently trying to find which thermo, dizzy and HT leads fit.
Keep me posted on how you get on for parts. I might need to buy some from you. Bernard

Hey! You guys had any luck on sourcing parts for your motors:?: ...I have just taken possession of my 1988 Mitsu J53 off the boat at Southampton (Thanks and kudos to Tony at Autoadvan for an excellent transaction!!) and put it straight up on the ramps for a checkover, all looks good for an MOT but the rear brakes had seized due to it sitting around for so long and the front shoes are low, also the cv boots are shot, so I called in at my local Mitsubishi dealer to check availability of parts, as usual the sales rep asked for the chassis No but did not recognize the No I gave as being several digits to short of the normally recognized No!! after referring direct to Mitsubishi, Japan I was told there were slave cylinder kits available at 29.00 quid a pop and the shoes would cost 88.00 quid a wheel!! with no replacement cv boots available .. any one know of a U.K or European supplier or even any crossover parts from other vehicles?

RC-Flyer
the people who have helped me keep my J26 running so far include
Phill at APB Products, Hartlebury, Kidderminster - Service including brakes
Past Products, Bury St Edmunds - Clutch Slave cylinder re-sleeved & new boot supplied
Forest International Gaskets, Coleford, Gloucestershire - Engine gaskets
Allied Forces, Berkeley, Gloucestershire - Canvas Top
There is also a good supplier of electrical parts based in Bromyard, Worcestershire (sorry I can't find their name, but they do have a web site).
The Asia Rocsta owners club also have a very active parts service - contact Mark via their web site.
Hope this helps, good luck and let us know who you find.
I broke the off-side rear brake light this afternoon so if anyone knows of a supplier I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Bernard
