Hi all,
I need to drop the petrol tank on my disco to change the fuel lines, as the return pipe that runs along the chassis rail next to the drivers side rear coil spring has sprung a (costly) leak.
However, I have an LPG system fitted and so have a 'mini' 5 gallon tank sat under the RHS rear floor panel (to the right of the tow bar).
I can undo the bolts and physically lower the tank down, but what sort of connections will be into the top of the tank? I assume that there would be feed and return, plus the electrical connections to the float and sender unit, but is there anything else that I should watch for?
All help gratefully received
Thanks
Eric

I've only had a tdi, but If you take the carpets up in the boot you'll see an inspection panel above the fuel tank, I think that will answer your questions....

As it's a special small tank it will not be accessible via the standard central panel.
Suspect the adaptation re-used the original disco pump within the new tank, if so then you will have standard threaded connections.
If there is no fuel pump added in-line during the conversion then the pump must be in the small tank?
Hope that helps

Correction, the connections on the standard pump will be compression fitting I believe.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll have a poke around underneath the boot floor and report back...

There'll be a breather pipe to a rollover valve at top rear, as well as the obvious filler neck and vent pipes at front.
Sometimes you can't draw the front securing bolt through the chassis until you have dropped the LPG tanks
